For quite some times now, i have been into blogging and i think i pretty much understand how blogging works, although I started with a mathematics blog where i give solutions to problems on mathematics @ Mymathware. 



The idea to teach newbies how to blog and make money from it came after i received lots and lots of emails from people who want to learn how to blog  and also earn a living from it.
Earning from blogging is one of the most interesting and easiest thing, but when I say "easy" I don't just mean extremely simple, you need to sacrifice your time and energy into it, a lot of people join blogging thinking they will start making money immediately after registeration, but it's not done that way.
Blogging is something that requires some time and attention, you have to dedicate your time to it, think of a way to publicise your blog and generate good traffic before you can think of earnings.
But before we think of opening a blog we need to know what a blog is.

NOW WHAT IS A BLOG?

Everyone has a different opinion of how to explain what a blog is. In my opinion i say a blog is equivalent to the “normal” website we know, since essentially a blog is a website.
But blogs were developed generally for online diary purposes where the author will write about himself and some life experiences, but the idea of blogging today has taken a new dimension. 
Blogs and the dynamic websites you know have a few key differences, namely:
(i) Articles in a blog are listed in chronological order with the newest article at the top
(ii) Articles are usually published with the date of the day it was published so that the reader can differentiate an old post from a new one while in a dynamic website, dates are not neccesary.
(iii) Blogs are easy to read while some dynamic website consumes lots of data for a single page to load thereby making the website very slow to access.
(iv) Blogs especially the news blogs made access to the communication media very easy, so with your little phone you can read news and gossips anywhere anytime.
(v) People tend to trust blogs more.
(vi) Blogs are very easy to update
(vii)  Blogs allow people to add comment thereby making it look like a forum where people come and chat.



Here in  Nigeria, there are big blogs that have made it big time and most of this blogs started with news, celebrity gists and gossips examples include Naijaloaded, Nairaland, Lindaikejisblog, ogbongelodge, omojuwa and so many others.
There other blogs that have also made names through other means such as education, technology and so on.
e.g Mymathware, Zealmat, infoguidenigeria and so many others.  

So if you are thinking of opening a blog, you should think of a better niche, as some of the niches mentioned above such as news and celebrity gists/gossips are crowded except mathematics niche.
