Review

"I am Malala” is an inspiring book in which a beautiful and brave Malala narrates the story of her life. She won a  Nobel peace prize for her campaign and struggle for securing of girls’ right to education, making her the youngest ever Nobel Laurette. She was able to scale such heights and contribute so much to the betterment of the world because of her courage to stand up and raise her voice against injustice and discrimination. Another factor that helped her do so was the unfailing support of her beloved parents, particularly her father who himself campaigned for global peace, women's rights and for the preservation of environment. Even her mother was a strong woman, though illiterate never discouraged her daughter from standing up for what she believed. The story is written in a simple language and it describes the various happenings in Pakistan since the partition in 1947. The book was written by Malala Yousafzai with Christina Lamb. The story also narrates how Malala survived an attempted attack by the Taliban to eliminate her for her resistance towards the taliban western education ban. Malala was born in the mountainous and boarder region of Swat, in Pakistan.
